Kylie Kelce Pushes Back on Questions About Having a Baby Boy

Helen Hayward

Kylie Kelce has a clear response to the repeated question about whether she and husband Jason Kelce will have another child in hopes of having a boy. As a mother of four daughters, Kylie says her family is already complete and that having a son is not necessary for a fulfilling family life.

During the Aug. 20 episode of her “Not Gonna Lie” podcast, the 34-year-old addressed the topic after being asked once again if she planned to try for a boy.

Kylie responded directly: “You’re wrong. I don’t need to have a son.”

She also used the moment to make a broader point about how parents are questioned about the gender of their children. “It’s your quarterly reminder that we do not ask people who have children of one gender if they are going to try for the other one. That’s not how that works,” she said.

Kylie shares four daughters with former NFL star Jason Kelce: Wyatt, 6, Elliotte, 5, Bennett, 3, and Finn, 1.

Four Daughters, No Regrets

Kylie made it clear that she feels fortunate to have the children she does. She also pushed back against the idea that a family needs a son to feel complete.

“I’m so sorry to all the boy moms out there that I’m about to say this, but I’m biased because I only know what I know,” she said.

She then joked about having four girls by referencing Beyoncé’s “Run the World (Girls).” Kylie said the repeated questions are “crazy” because people ask her about having a boy both online and in person.

Her message was simple: “We got to stop doing that. We got to cut that out.”

Kylie added that she and Jason are “so fortunate to have the girls that we have” and said they are not “less fulfilled” because all four children are girls. She called the suggestion that a person cannot have a fulfilled life without a son “silly.”

Jason Kelce and the Son Expectation

Kylie has addressed the same pressure before. In January 2025, while appearing on the “Sunday Sports Club” podcast, she discussed assumptions that Jason should have a son who could follow his football path.

“People put this strange pressure on the idea that my husband is supposed to have a boy because ‘He’s going to follow in his footsteps, and he’s going to be a football player, and he needs to play catch in the yard,’” Kylie said.

She quickly challenged that idea, adding, “I hate to break it to you, but our kids play catch with him all the time. He’s fine.”

Kylie’s comments focus on a common assumption about family size and gender. For her, raising Wyatt, Elliotte, Bennett and Finn does not leave anything missing. Her repeated response also highlights why questions about having another child simply to have a different gender can feel intrusive.

Kylie and Jason Kelce have four daughters, and her latest comments make clear that she does not view having a son as something their family needs.
