Suni Lee is preparing for another exciting chapter in gymnastics. The six-time Olympic medalist recently confirmed her return to training. She now aims for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
After overcoming major health challenges, Lee believes she still has more to achieve. That belief continues to drive her every day.
During the 2026 ESPYS red carpet, Lee explained why she decided to compete again. She said, "Deep down, I knew I still had much more to give." That feeling pushed her back into the gym. Now, she trains with a clear goal and fresh motivation.
Lee continues to manage an incurable kidney disease. Doctors diagnosed the condition in 2023. At first, they believed gymnastics might no longer be possible. Looking back, Lee shared, "Doctors told me my kidney disease could end my career. That became one of the hardest moments of my life."
Even so, she refused to let that challenge define her future.

She added three more medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics. She helped Team USA win gold. She also captured bronze in the individual all-around and uneven bars.
Even with those achievements, Lee still wants another opportunity. She explained, "This time, I want to give myself another chance. I'm excited to have my team beside me throughout the journey."
